It’s working…

…because the Trump regime is inspiring the brilliance of Randy Rainbow. That guy is a national frigging treasure. If we stay focused, we will emerge from this dark time with far more civic engagement, a strong regard for the importance of stewarding democracy, and some break-out comedic/creative talents. .

..so let’s keep going

The other day Trump said “I get great intel. I have people brief me on great intel every day” and then proceeded to tell two Russian diplomats, their aides, and the Russia Today journalist in the room highly classified espionage information.

This is who our president is.

This man is catastrophically unqualified and unprepared for his job—and, just as bad, he would never ever ever admit it or accept help, so we are burdened with the corresponding consequences. A not-particularly-accomplished high school student could do better. A lot of people are making a big deal out of the fact that he blabbed these secrets to Russians. I think that’s sort of immaterial. That he did this with any person at all is unbelievably amateurish, immature, stupid, and dangerous. The Russia thing just adds an incredibly quality of genius-level high-impact farce.

Your task

Please call (leave a message) or fax (use resistbot) any or all of the people on the Senate Intelligence Committee and the House Intelligence Committee, as well as your own Congress people. The script is below these contact names.

Say:
[My name is ____ and my zip is _____] OR [I am calling _____ in his/her capacity on the Intelligence Committee.]  This most recent incident of President Trump telling foreign agents highly classified information, and then refusing to take responsibility for the seriousness of this error, is unbelievable and unacceptable. This man is not fit to be president. I am extremely concerned about the consequences of Trump remaining in office. This is not a partisan issue. Anyone can see he does not understand the roles and responsibilities he is entrusted with.
[Add for your Democratic member of Congress:] This cannot stand. What specific steps is _______ doing to address this?
OR [Add for your Republican member of Congress:] I know the Republicans want to get their policies passed, but I am getting more and more troubled by their refusal to acknowledge the seriousness of Trump’s mistakes and the dangerous way he dodges responsibility. Just because the president can declassify information by blabbing it to anyone doesn’t mean he should. I am getting really really nervous for my safety and our future. What is _____ going to do to show that she/he cares about our country’s security and standing in the world?
OR [Add for the Senate and House intelligence committees:]  I am asking the committee to lead Congress in admitting that we have a real problem here. This needs to stop. Thanks, Five-Minutesers.
